We closed a financing with Tallwood after a compressed but thorough diligence process. George Pavlov and Luis Arzubi were tough but fair and followed up as promised on numerous occassions. Highly recommended.

I am sure most of you know this and based on the previous reviews, it is clear that there is a need for some fresh air in this firm. Old tricks are not really working.

Setup a meeting with RY to pitch. They brought their whole team at the first meeting and thoroughly grilled us technically. It was very difficult to perceive from the meeting on what their opinion was. They haven't provided any feedback whatsoever (been 5 months), not even a simple email that we are not interested at this time or we would like to pass. Total Waste of Time !!

It is hard to assess this firm. On the one hand you will find noone with more integrity and honesty. Their main partner is perhaps the most successful entreprenuer and angel investor there is in the valley. Trouble is that they seem to think what worked for him ten years ago is what works for everyone else now, and they have very specific (and dated) expectations as to how a company must be run. Still, they are one of the best if you are looking for a semiconductor related VC. Just make sure you have alignment in goals. Also, you will not find another VC thatis more loyal and more supportive, whether you agree with their goals for the company or not. They have not fully tranformed from an agel mode to a typical VC operation though, which could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.
