Attitude Should Be Lost

Had a call with one of the partners once. Pretty arrogant attitude despite lack of knowledge of our particular field. Shouldn't have taken the call if he wasn't interested. Should learn the inherent value in common courtesy.

I met Rob Go at a networking event a month into founding our company. He was very helpful before and after our pitch to Spark. Even though they passed on us as it was not the right fit, Rob has been helping us a lot. He continues to champion us even after they passed on us. If you are a young company and looking to strengthen your product and your business model, I encourage you strongly to get in touch with Rob. If you want quick and constructive feedback, do pitch to them. Last but not the least, he has a healthy respect for entrepreneurs and full of new ideas.
During our pitch to Todd Dagres, he asked great questions and got back to us within few days.
The details:
In the six months since I met Rob and before we made the formal pitch, Rob worked with us in helping us improve the business plan, identifying the gaps in our expertise, helping us with recruiting advisors and last but not the least in improving our service. He would call and email me with new ways of generating revenue and discuss their pros and cons.
He continues to help us by making introductions to other VCs who could potentially be interested in a firm like us.

I was introduced to the firm from a friend who got funding from them. I scheduled a call with them and they rescheduled once, and then didn't turn up for our second scheduled call. Then they didn't return my emails after that.

We pitched to Robert Go. He was extremely polite, gave really great feedback and was a pleasure to pitch to. Asked some great questions, and showed that he really knew his stuff. They passed on us, but he was at least courteous enough to give an explanation, and has given his time since to give extra feedback.

I pitched to them over the phone because they were on the east coast. It honestly seemed like they were more interested in what I had to say about some of the other companies in the space (that they were also considering investing in).. kind of like I was doing there research for them. They said they were interested, but didn't follow up..

The fund itself is young, so doesn't have a long track record (good or bad). However, the principals have strong individual track records with other firms, so I felt very confident in their ability to add value to a venture "in their wheelhouse" (new media)

They seem very opinionated and not very open to opportunities outside of their narrow market view. The pitch efficiency was good...quick negative. The professionalism of appropriate consideration was not really there.

I've found Tood Dagres and his associate Rob Go to be very knowledgeable and polite, very respectful for the entrepreneur, and open to new ideas. Thumbs up.

Todd lead our Series B. Was introduced to us by Art Bilger from Shelter Capital Partners (another great fund). All of the guys at Spark are engaged, numerous partners attend our BOD meetings, and I would definitely bring additional deals to them.

Todd Dagres was the main partner from Spark with who we worked. Todd is very experienced and from the first pitch we made to him through to the closing of the round he was professional, concise, and very action oriented. There was absolutely no wasted time or absurd requests for information. Due diligence was focused and he brought in very appropriate people for that process. Todd's EA was on top of all communications, meeting logistics, and document exchange which further increased the overall professionalism of the office. If you are going to pitch Todd be very well prepared, be concise, and understand you are going to get pointed questions about your value statements - all very fair and spot on.

Todd does not waste your time. He will give feedback very quickly... He does not mince words. Take his advice constructively, and you will be better off for it.
I met Todd when I started a company in 2000. He provided key insights in two meetings of not more than 20 minutes each that proved essential in guiding our company in refining our product into a segment which enabled both financing from VCs and an eventual sale of the company.
No, I have not had the pleasure of working with him...

Bijan Sabet is a nice guy but most of the other partners are arrogant and/or annoying. They generally think that they know everything.

Just got an email back from Dennis that their funding limit is below $5 Mill.
This is rather unusual for media!

Newish, media focused firm on the east coast. Process for west coast firms could be tighter.
