PUBLIC:

Very deep in anything semiconductor but have the right team to back any proposition in this space. Unfortunately not too keen on anything else. Jamie Urquhart is a legend in the chip industry having been part of original team of ARM. Kent Godfrey is also well respected from his numerous years in industry. Very open in wanting to talk to entrepreneurs without a business plan which is refreshing.

Had to Chase Down for a Pass

Pitched Kent and Richard separately on a US based deal. Was told upfront that Pond's focus is primary EU given the goals of it's LPs and the bar is very high for N. American companies seeking funding from their firm. Kent is straight forward and asked reasonable questions. Met with Richard who said ( and I quote ), "We don't mess around. We'll give you an investment decision within a week or two". Of course that decision would be whether to move on to diligence or not.

From that point on radio silence. After a number of broken appointments to touch base was given the, "We'll invest if you can find someone to lead" via email six weeks later.

Hopefully blowing off scheduled calls isn't their standard mode of operation. Being generous I suspect they were trying to get something done internally and just couldn't. They may be a good fund, but Kent's bedside manner leaves something to be desired.
