Siemens Venture Capital (SVC) is an investor in our company and Anupendra Sharma serves as an observer on the Company’s Board of Directors. SVC was already an investor when I joined the Company, so I cannot provide feedback on the Company’s experience with SVC’s investment process.
Siemens Venture Capital has been and continues to be a tremendous resource to our Company and having Anupendra as our conduit has enabled us to open up dialogs with Siemens both as a partner and a supplier. Due to Siemens large size, I seriously doubt much would have been accomplished without Anupendra spearheading the introductions and follow up. He has been able to guide us through Siemens’ complex organizational structure and ensured follow up on the part of both organizations.
Anupendra Sharma has been a very diligent resource and partner for the Company, and throughout difficult times, has remained level headed and been a great advocate of the Company and for the Company’s success. He doesn’t hesitate to ask management the difficult questions, but when he asks questions he does so in a constructive manner and clearly demonstrates his belief in and support of the business. And, he has never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and provide hands on assistance. Anupendra is also amazingly available and accessible regardless of his physical location in the world.
An added benefit of SVC is the annual conference that Siemens Venture Capital sponsors in Boston. The SVC conference is a great opportunity to network with Siemens, other investors and other venture capital backed firms.

I have interacted with the Boston office (Anupendra Sharma, Andrew Jay & Ed Chan) and each interaction has been very positive. The guys are very professional and responsive. They have an above ordinary knowledge of the Life Sciences Industry as a whole.
They understood our technology and business model right off the bat. Fielded good questions, rendered honest feedback and good criticism. ..did not waste our time. Unfortunately our technology fell under a sector which is outside of Seimens' strike zone. Refreshingly enough, they followed up with us on more than one occasion and offered cogent insights. I don't know of many VCs that would take time out of their schedules to advise a company that they would not invest in or in one that fell beyond their sector..
They also seem to have good grasp over early stage issues and founder challenges...(an indication of how they would be as an investor and/or Board member). All in all, great group (at least the ones that I met).
