Great Firm to Work With
Fund: Ridgewood Capital Management

Ridgewood invested in my company’s Series B round of funding in 2007 and remained an investor and board member until our M&A exit in 2011. Our experience with them really could not have been better. We worked primarily with Elton Sherwin during the funding process; Elton then served as Ridgewood’s representative on our board of directors. Elton added great value on the board member. His comments and overall approach were very helpful and when the company would hit a bump in the road (failure to hit a revenue, profitability, or development target, for example), his approach was a collaborative and constructive one, not a less constructive “who should get fired" one. He also played a very useful role working to resolve differences that arose on occasion among other board members. We also worked from time to time with Jeff Strasberg, Ridgewood’s CFO, particularly when Ridgewood invested in our company and again as we were in the exit process. Jeff was very helpful on financial and deal structuring issue – his willingness to dig into the details and think through alternative options made Ridgewood more helpful on those sorts of issues than any other investor with whom I’ve worked.
