Was the Demo a Mistake?

PUBLIC:

I am the founder of a bootstrapped web app company with a pre beta product. An NBVP partner introduced me to EIR/CEO of new company in my same market. Went to meeting at NBVP office and met founders of new company. I opened the meeting by voicing my concern about opening the kimono to a newly funded company in my space. The CEO stated that they had the same concern and that he would stop the meeting if it became clear that we were working on similar ideas. I ended up showing my full demo to great interest on their part. The pumped me for answers on many subjects. When it came time for them to discuss their offering, the meeting ended. I was told that they would have the VP of marketing contact me to discuss partnership opportunities. Weeks have gone by with no contact. I did a follow up email to the CEO but have yet to receive a response. Should I be concerned" Update: just received a contact to continue the discussion with the SVP marketing, so my concern has abated at this point.
